Janaína loves the ocean in all its forms. She was raised in Sagres and moved to the Azores in 2010 to do her MsC in Marine Biology while working as a whale watching skipper and shark dive guide.

Was a cetacean researcher in the Canary Islands and collaborated in shark conservation projects. Has worked with renowned underwater photographers and filmmakers as an uw model and taking care of logistics.

Sailed across the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean. Was a bodyboarding athlete during her teens and still rides her board when the swell arrives.

Some years ago health challenges made her rediscover freediving which got her into a journey of self-awareness and natural healing. Since then, diving on breath hold became a very important part of her life!

In 2022 she was selected to represent Portugal in the CMAS Freediving World Cup held in Kas, Turkey. She holds 5 national records in the CWTB discipline.
